Mark 12:1-12

Tenants and the owner. We have the owner (landlord) who has done the work of planting the vineyard, digging the wine press, securing the property, then leaving it to the tenants to manage. Sounds very generous to me! Yet the Landlord sends his servants to get some of his profits, only to have them beaten up and some put to death.

This parable is told to an audience of religious leaders.
Now consider the characters of the parable, the man planting the vineyard “Jesus” the servant sent to collect some of the harvest “prophets, disciples, (Christ followers). And the vineyard is the world we live in. How often have I been the tenant in the story? My words, actions and attitudes have been all the evidence needed for the jury to convict me. So now what? The final act, the owner sent his son, to collect that which belongs to the father, only to be killed (Jesus Christ). So that I could have access to the vineyard, and its fruit. For now, I am sent as one of the servants, by faith. Lord, help me to remain faithful in the mission you have set before me.

Please spend some time reading Mark 12:1-12 and think through your story. I will continue to pray for you and your family and for safety on the highways and byways.
