Hebrews 4: 14-16

We do not have a Great High Priest that doesn’t understand what we go through or are tempted with.  He, Jesus, the Son of God was tempted like we are, but he did not sin!!  Ponder that with me for a moment.  Fully man, fully God tempted with the same temptations that I am tempted with every day. Tempted with lust, envy, pride, controlling my tongue, anger and self-control. Are these just Christian terms though?  How do we break down these temptations into everyday temptations that we face.

4-wheeler cutting us off on the roadway, do with show them that they are #1 or do we honestly bless them and pray for them?

How about when we see the cleavage of a women, do we lust after that or covet it?

When shippers or receivers treat us badly, do we lash out at them with our tongue?

Jesus in every way and many many more temptations was tempted just like we are, but he DID NOT SIN!!  And because of that He was exalted to the Great High Priest, a High Priest that can have compassion on us and advocate for us with the Father. Vs.16 say: “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

In summary, when we are tempted, let us first pray and keep praying. Fill your mind with Gods Word to use while being tempted.  Call a friend and let them know you are tempted and need prayer and support.  The more you resist the easier it will come in the future; part of our problem is we give in way too quick.

Let us reach out to our Great High Priest

Please be kind to the shipper and receiver that you run into today, you never know what they are going through.
