Joshua 11: 1-23
Do statements or events in the Bible ever just stop you in your tracks? Are you left with more questions than answers?
This book has some of both for me. But first I need to say; I can and will trust God with both my questions, answered and unanswered.
A very bloody view of the situation at this point, and a stop me in my tracks verse 20; For it was the Lord’s doing to harden their hearts that they should come against Israel in battle, in order that they should be devoted to destruction and receive no mercy but be destroyed, just as the Lord commanded Moses.
We have a sovereign God, he knows the future, present and past. He is never surprised, worried, or caught off guard. His intentions are perfect as he is. His words and promises are sure, without fail.
All said, it seems that our current culture is bent on self-destruction…but God who is rich in mercy, willing to redeem and invites me to repentance and restoration of relationship for my good, wants the same for all the world to hear the truth of the gospel. Then this one choice is mind, be on mission with and for him every day. Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven… Matthew 6:9-13
