1 Thessalonians 5:18

“Give thanks in ALL circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Such an easy command.. Give thanks. We have it pretty good here in America. When was the last time you made a list of what you are thankful for? Go a head and get a piece of paper and a pencil I’ll wait. Here let me give you another verse or two to help you.

1 Chronicles 16:8 ” Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples!”

1 Chronicles 16: 34 “Oh give thanks to the Lord; for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!”

Ephesians 5: 20 “giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,”

Psalm 9:1 “I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds,”

I am thankful for:

  1. The salvation I have because of what Jesus the Christ did for me.
  2. That God loved me first and now I can love Him, myself and others.
  3. My health.
  4. My spouse, kids, and grandkids.
  5. The home that God has given me.
  6. The job He has given me.

My list can go on and on. I am thankful.

If you are having a hard time starting your list, maybe you can start with being thankful for the paper and pencil and go from there.

God expects us to be thankful for everything, always, with a whole heart.
