Mark 7: 1-37
Mark 8: 1-38
Placing our traditions on par with the doctrine and the character of Jesus. Such a dangerous place to be. And I am guilty of doing that very thing. It seems each culture and time period has this very same struggle. We know from our experiences, and church attendance (whether seldom or often) a form of Christianity, without really knowing the heart of Jesus. The disciples too struggled with those tensions.
Jesus really wants all people of all time to see and experience who he is! He is great in every way, he is just and loving, righteous and powerful beyond all of our imaginations. And he knows me and you, including every detail of my life, thoughts and actions, nothing can be hidden from him.
He feeds, heels and clothes us, and invites us to care for others as he has cared for us.
He came not to be served, but to serve and give his life for us.
