Mark chapter 3
A question for the religious leaders; “Is it lawful on the sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to kill?” It would seem to me, why did the question need to be asked? But I live in another time and a different world view. So the questions Jesus would ask me, would still have cultural context. Perhaps Jesus would ask, why do you worship what i created rather than worshipping me? Why do you pervert the good gifts I have given you?
Then the end of the chapter, yet another question; “who are my mother and my brothers?”
It is you sitting here in my presence, you who believe are my family. He can forgive sin, restore the brokenness of my life and make me family! What an incredible gift. Lord, help me to hold on to that truth today…..just “stretch out my hand.” And he (me) was restored!
